Environmental Baseline Studies (EBS) & Environmental monitoring

Configured with relevant sensors, SEA EXPLORER gliders can patrol a large region (thousand km) for weeks to months or as a virtual mooring to monitor different parameters in the same time and achieving substantial cost savings compared to traditional manned fuel-burning surface ships.

Diving up and down, the SEA EXPLORER glider collects autonomously “in-situ” data along the complete water column. Data are transmitted in near real time to the offshore control station when the glider surfaces.

The SEA EXPLORER provides reliable data enabling to deliver an accurate picture of the subsea environment for different parameters at large spatio-temporal scale.

Following parameters among others can be tracked over time :

  • Conductivity
  • Temperature
  • Density
  • Chlorophyl
  • CDOM
  • Turbidity
  • Hydrocarbon
